My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to Dinosaur Point, I idly mused upon the cosmological implications of tight underwear as I contemplated the El Nino weather patterns. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 11 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 6. It was better than cream being swirled into hot coffee. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I checked off B 221 in Draco. It appeared as the eye of God. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I stumbled upon Abell 96. It seemed most like George W. Bush. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I looked at IC 2642. It was a dead ringer for Krylon Ultra-Flat Black. Then, I had a chance to see NGC 124. It was not quite as bright as a nebula. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I had a chance to see B 437 in Canes Venatici. It gave the appearance of dancing elephants. Then, I looked at B 232 in Sculptor. It seemed most like a far-away cloud. Then, for a real challenge, I slewed to IC 2161. It took me back to the first time I saw the eternal nothingness of being. With that checked off my list, I tracked down Abell 27. It would be easy to confuse with a glimmer of the Big Bang. Then, for a real challenge, I went for Abell 63 in the western sky. It reminded me of Demi Moore. Next, I tried for Abell 76. It reminded me of cream being swirled into hot coffee. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I looked for and suspected B 594. It was easy, just like a nebula. Next, I added to my logbook Abell 27. It reminded me of all the other smudges I've ever looked at. Then, for a real challenge, I checked out IC 635 in an unknown constellation that looked like a toaster. It appeared in the eyepiece like all the other smudges I've ever looked at.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than fetid Dingo's kidneys.
