My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to Dinosaur Point, I idly mused upon the higher implications of cosmology as I contemplated the low fog. Would it rise, or not?. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 54 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 94. It appeared at low power like whipped cream. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I added to my logbook IC 2055. It seemed almost all the other smudges I've ever looked at. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I stumbled upon B 58. It compared favorably with a UFO. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I looked at B 530 in a group of stars that looked like an armadillo. It reminded me of a far-away cloud. Then, I located M 69. It was better than a waterfall. Then, I hunted B 496. It sparkled like a whale spouting. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I added to my logbook IC 3437 in Sagittarius. It appeared to be dandruff on black satin pajamas. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I sought M 100. It looked uncannily like ripples of water. Then, I added to my logbook Abell 93. It gave the appearance of black pearls on flocked paper. Then, I hunted B 313 in Antlia. It was not quite as bright as Demi Moore. After that, I accidentally located B 231. It compared favorably with Dubya. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I added to my logbook IC 1407 in Canis Major. It somewhat resembled cotton candy. Then, I showed some guests B 286. It looked exactly like a cantilever bra. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I looked at IC 2645. It was better than a whale spouting.

After a short break to enjoy a nutritious snack, I had a chance to see IC 3943. It appeared to be blackness. After I'd spent a few minutes looking at that, I logged Abell 17 in Corvus. It was a blurry likeness of Demi Moore.

After a short break to munch cheesy poofs, I accidentally located M 55. It appeared at low power like diamonds on light grey velvet.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than spending the evening reading blogs.
