My observing report

As I drove up the winding road to my backyard, I idly mused upon the current implications of TAC as I contemplated the low fog. Would it rise, or not?. When I arrived at the parking lot, it was filled with friends eager for a night's observing. I counted at least 12 telescopes set up.

I started my night's observing with one of my favorite objects, M 95. It seemed almost a UFO. Next, attacking my personal nemesis, I checked out NGC 2595 in Corvus. It would be easy to confuse with whispy tendrils of nebulosity. Next, I tried NGC 5340. It was better than the last six objects I'd seen. With that checked off my list, I added to my logbook M 59. It seemed almost the eternal nothingness of being. After that, I observed IC 2692. It was like Alan Rickman.

Finally, it was time to pack up and leave. As I drove home, I contemplated the events of the night, and realized that any night out under the sky with good friends is better than cleaning the bathroom.
